Module 1: Anatomy and Physiology

Gain an in depth knowledge of the Anatomy of the human body (its structures) and its Physiology (how these structures work). This unit will provide you with an understanding of how the 5 major systems in your body: Skeletal, Muscular, Cardio Respiratory, Nervous and Energy System function. A few of the topics explored in this unit are bone formation and growth, joint structures and movements, types of muscle contractions, heart and pulmonary circulation, blood pressure, neuromuscular response to exercise, and how carbs, fats and proteins are used in energy production, as well as the effects of exercise on all these systems.

Module 2: Advanced Nutrition

The perfect balance between science-based theory and practical skills development. Gain science-based knowledge and practical skills to support your clients in reaching their health and weight management goals! With this Nutrition Certification, you can support clients towards healthier lifestyle changes by learning how to: Conduct Client Consultations, Analyze Nutritional Habits, Set & Meet Realistic Dietary Goals to Improve Weight Management, Client Coaching & Motivation, Healthy Food Preparation, Evidence-based Knowledge vs Marketing Claims, Understanding Food Labelings and Additives, Caloric Value of Nutrients, Macronutrients, Glycemic Index & Energy Systems, Micronutrients, Vitamins, Minerals, Phytochemicals & Enzymes, Strengths and weaknesses of diets such as Vegan, Vegetarianism, Keto, Paleo, Mediterranean and Intermittent fasting.

Module 3: Advanced Fitness Programming

This unit all about how to develop and plan effective programming for personal training clients. Learn the various methods for collecting important client information, how to design client programs and deliver effective 1-on-1, as well as group training sessions. You will also learn effective strategies for keeping clients motivated to adapt and maintain habit changes, set and exceed exercise goals, foster effective Client-Trainer working relationships and the role that ethics, customer care and service play in building successful relationships in the fitness industry.

Module 4: Planning and Instructing Gym Based Exercise

Gain the skills and knowledge required to plan, prepare, instruct and supervise a gym-based exercise program with apparently healthy adults – both individuals and groups. In this unit you will learn how to collect and use client information (and cooperation) to plan a safe and effective gym-based exercise. Planning prior to the delivery of a gym-based session is essential and will enable you to ascertain the client’s goals and provide a reference for the construction of programs suitable to the client’s needs and level of fitness. This unit will also cover how to prepare yourself, the equipment and client for a gym-based session, as well as how to properly bring the session to a close.

Module 5: Delivering Group and Personal Training Sessions

Learn how to effectively select, instruct, and adapt exercises to meet the needs of the client. This is a valuable skill level that exceeds the capacity of typical gym instructor. By the end of this unit you will know how to create and deliver a variety of programs to suit the needs of an individual or group, be skilled in exercise adaptation, progression and regression, be able to act on client feedback to improve personal practice. In this unit you will also gain an understanding of training requirements for working with special populations (elderly, youth, disabilities, pregnancy, injury, etc), health and safety guidelines, how to properly conduct exercise risk assessments and monitor client progress, as well as a variety of advanced training methods and exercises with and without the use of equipment.
